Crosswinds Cornbread

This cornbread is an excellent with both our beef stew and our bean and beef chili.
Ingredients
- (1 C) Cornmeal
- (1 C) All Purpose Flour
- (1 Tbsp) Baking Powder
- (1/4 C) Granulated Sugar
- (1 Can) Creamed Corn
- (1/2 C) Melted Butter
- (3/4 C) Crosswinds Whole Milk
- (1 Tbsp) Softened Butter (to grease pan)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375*
- Place the Dry Ingredients in a bowl and mix.
- Place Wet ingredients in a separate bowl and mix until combined.
- Pour Wet into the Dry ingredients, mix until combined.
- Grease 10-12" Cast Iron skilled with 1 tbsp of butter to coat the base and halfway up the sides.
- Pour the batter in, smooth surface.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is light golden brown and a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean (or when you poke the top, it springs back).
- Cool 15 minutes in the skillet before turning out onto serving platter or cutting board.
Serve warm.
